Rishikesh abounds in natural beauty and the very sight of the mighty river Ganga rushing down in full force is a breathtaking sight.
Rishikesh is a beautiful place in India that is heaven for the spiritually inclined. This place is considered heaven for those who want to pursue Yoga and Meditation. It is located in the state of Uttranchal in India in the Tehri-Garhwal region.

Lakshman Jhula
Lakshman Jhula is a major attraction among the tourists. The suspension iron bridge Lakshman Jhula was constructed in the year 1929. It is said that Rama's brother Lakshmana crossed the river on a series of jute ropes here. One can enjoy breathtaking view of the river below and the surroundings from here.

Ram Jhula
Situated close to Lakshman Jhula is the Ram Jhula. Ram Jhula Bridge was recently constructed between Shivanand Ashram and Sawarg Ashram. This bridge is pretty similar to Lakshman Jhula.

Raghunath Mandir and Triveni Ghat
Considered very sacred, these two places are the most important places for religious ceremonies in Rishikesh. It is said that the three major rivers Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati form a confluence here. Enjoy the dusk over here that is said to be absolutely mesmerizing.

Bharat Mandir
Bharat Mandir is regarded as the oldest temple in Rishikesh. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu but also contains images that are associated with the worship of Lord Shiva.

Ashrams
Most of the ashrams here are centers for spiritual studies. Some of the most important ashrams are Paremarth Niketan, Sivanand Ashram, Yoga Niketan, Omkaranand Ashram, Vanaprastha Ashram, Ved Niketan, Dayanand Vedanta Ashram, Vanamali Gita Yogashram, Shankaracharya Nagar Transcendental Meditation Center, Vithal Ashram and Yoga Study Center.

How to Reach

By Rail
The nearest railway station is located at Haridwar, which is at a distance of 21 kilometers from Rishikesh.

By Road
Rishikesh is linked to all major cities of India by road. Thus it can be reached easily from any major city in India via a network of well-constructed national highways.
